Winner! Sound Spectrum Entertainment would like to thank everyone who entered our 2008 contest.
We had hundreds of entries to go through and it was a very difficult decision.
Below is the winning letter we received from Jessica & Josh. Thanks again
to everyone who participated. We look forward to 2009's contest! Jessica Greathouse & Josh Freund Wedding Date: December 5, 2008 To Whom It May Concern: Why should we win your DJ contest? Does just saying "please" count? No, not so much, huh? Ok, then I will have to resort to some old fashion story telling. But this is where my problem begins. I am a talker, love to talk, I am the girl who you wish your hair was on fire, just in hopes it will stop me from talking (FYI, probably still wouldn't stop me, just give me a new topic). Any who, I couldn't come up with a good reason for you to give us this prize. I wanted to give you the "my dog ran away with my wedding money", but he's a lab and he would just bring it back, so that's a no-go. Then I thought about doing something those radical protesters do, like starvation diets. I thought I would torment Josh until you buckled under the pressure .This really only involved putting the expired milk in the new milk container, washing his underwear with a red shirt, changing his presets on his truck radio, mismatching his socks etc, etc. (Josh wasn't really a team player on this last idea) Again, I found myself at the drawing board. I didn't realize you get writer's block without actually being a writer. I think I'll just go with what I know. I know that every little girl dreams of her wedding day. I know every princess wants to find Prince Charming. I know I love Joshua Freund and he loves me. I know I can't wait to dance our first dance as husband and wife and I know we would love for you to give us that gift. At our engagement party, our friend Holli Mehling asked our guests to write down their reasons we should win, they are as follows: (alcoholic beverages were served at this little soiree') -Josh & Jess need to win a free DJ because otherwise Josh will sing and everyone will leave! -They are cool cats that love to rock -J & J need to win a free DJ because no one wants to hear a washed up wedding singer. The Adam Sandler movie was enough, Please spare the guests. -DJs are poor and underpaid, they are slaves to their profession. They need exposure and publicity to enhance their reputation. So why not DJ at Josh and Jess's wedding where 500 racing (rich) people are present? -I never met two people more fun and deserving of each other that Josh and Jessie. (I think Grandma wrote this one) -Because Jess and all her hot mama friends can really shake their booties! -From the system in his truck to his air drumming skills, the boy needs music. Jess is one bad girl with a rockin' attitude and I'm not even sure the DJ could keep up. Come on DJ, Play that funky music for Josh and Jess! -Because they have been together for 6 years and they are a perfect couple. (Um, Josh's mom, what can I say, she loves us) -Josh and Jess love all kinds of music and they would consider it a great honor to win a DJ's services. They love their family and friends and music is a great expression of love. -They deserve it because they are wonderful people. -Jessie and Josh are so very much in love. They are happy, fun, exciting, giving, and just overall great people, there is nothing they could win that they did not truly deserve, Really! -If they don't have a DJ, how will they show off their sweet dancing skills? -Being Josh's aunt, I have always wanted what is best for him. When I first met Jessie, I knew she was perfect for him, it just took him a while to figure it out! I just hope they get everything they need for a perfect wedding. -I definitely believe a DJ would be amazed at the appreciation and passion their family and friends have for music. The dancing ability of this group is both talented and legendary, (but the biggest reason I want them to win is, I am out of money!) - Dad -Jessica and Joshua's love for each other overcomes speed and miles. Due to racing and where it takes him, their love can sometimes span continents. Behind every successful man, is a supportive woman, VERY true in this case. They are so deserving of this prize, because they epitomize the love of two people, regardless of the miles that may separate them. -Jess and Josh are the most poppin' couple in town! It wouldn't be a party without them! They know how to get down with the get down! A DJ would just make it perfect! With the risk of sounding desperate, we desperately want to win your contest! Thank you for your consideration Sincerely Jessica and Josh OH MY GOSH, I WAS SO EXCITED ABOUT THE ESSAY AND CONTEST THAT I FORGOT TO PUT MY
